The mission of the Boulder Change program is to provide citizens, service organizations, businesses and faith communities a guaranteed beneficial way to give generously to those in need (often the working poor) without the concern that their funds may be used to support self-destructive behaviors.
Boulder Change is a voucher program, consisting of scrip in $1.00 denominations, that citizens, faith communities and service organizations can exchange for cash, and then give to people in need instead of cash. As well Community Table, which Boulder Change is part of, gives out this scrip as part of its program to feed those in need. Boulder Change also uses donations to purchase a large amount of the scrip and distribute it to the community.
The vouchers can be redeemed at several local businesses, including King Soopers, RTD, certain Conoco Gas Stations, a Laundromat, the Boulder Rec centers and several restaurants for food, transportation, gas, showers and personal items. The vouchers cannot be redeemed for tobacco or alcohol products, and no cash change is returned to the user.
Boulder Change provides a beneficial way for the public to give to those in need and be confident that the money will be used wisely.
